The biggest inventor on YouTube...
more about colin
His channel youtube.com/colinfurze has more than 7.8 million subscribers and his videos have been viewed 855 million times. A former plumber, Colin now creates amazing inventions and world record beating vehicles from the un-safety of his shed.
As a teenager Colin rode a BMX and, along with his friends, would make short videos of their rides and stunts, rapidly progressing from filming bikes to filming fire and explosions. YouTube gave Colin a platform for his films and an audience for his wild projects and dangerous stunts. Colin has held the world record for the world’s biggest bonfire [1406m3], longest motorcycle [72ft], fastest mobility scooter [71.59 mph], pram [53.46 mph] and toilet [53.25 mph]. All of Colin’s record attempts take place on 14th October - his birthday.
On YouTube Colin is known for his homemade wall of death from pallets which he rode on a 50cc scooter, an underground bunker, Wolverine Claws, his pulse jet go-kart and his ‘safety shirt and tie’ (now looking a little worse for wear!).
He has taken part in online campaigns for a number of major brands, making videos for, among others, Ford, Intel, Ubisoft, Sky, eBay and HTC. Colin has appeared on television as part of the build team of Sky 1’s Gadget Geeks, as well as featuring on a number of programmes internationally with his videos and his inventions.
He has also appeared on other online channels including the Youtube Original Content channel Fast, Furious and Funny.
Unsurprisingly, Colin is a big fan of Formula One, Moto Grand Prix and BMX. Colin lives in Stamford with his partner and son.
